Basildon Golf Course Campaign
Local Green Party Condemns Council’s
Attitude to Local Residents
“Yet again Basildon Council shows its completely cynical disregard for residents. These people are council tax payers and deserve to have their concerns treated with respect. Answers must be provided; it is not enough to treat people as though they were too stupid to understand issues.
What people do understand is that Basildon Council is persisting with its policy of selling off the family silver by hiving off its assets to ‘arms’ length organisations’ which understand nothing of local people’s feelings and care even less.
The golf course is one of the few remaining municipal courses in the country, and although Councillors may use other, far more prestigious links, it happens that our course offers recreation opportunities for all sectors of the community.
Basildon Council must re-engage with ordinary people and respect their wish to retain the amenities and green spaces without creating despair amongst the residents.”

Appeal for Members
We thank all the people who vote Green Party for their valued support.
It would make a fantastic difference if just ten percent of those who vote Green would join the Green Party. We have achieved a great deal with just a handful of active members - with 600 + members we could really make an impact. Maybe we could even secure a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren?
We are campaigning to protect the environment from urban sprawl and unsustainable development.
Together we really can make a difference!
