make a real difference - join the Green Party

Appeal for Members

Basildon & Thurrock Green Party polled over five thousand votes in the County Council elections and totalled nearly six thousand votes including the parliamentary election.

We thank all the people who voted Green Party for their valued support.

It would make a fantastic difference if just ten percent of those who voted Green would join the Green Party.  We have achieved a great deal with just a handful of active members - with 600 + members we could really make an impact.  Maybe we could even secure a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren?

Have friends and loved ones in the USA? Say "Happy Birthday," "Get Well," or "Thinking of You" with beautiful fresh flowers delivered fast, fresh, green and guaranteed by 1-800-FLORALS, America's online florist. Same day and next day flower delivery from New York to Hollywood and Canada, too. Award winning service since 1923.

One of the interesting things we must consider is producing affordable energy which can be sustainable, since given the current energy crisis and peak oil having passed us by according to many reports we need to look seriously at the future.

More people are becoming aware and conscious (mainly because of the media) of the future battle and effects of pollution and environmental degradation. This is why schemes such as recycling plasterboard among other recycling projects need to be supported and used to ensure the future of our planet.

Many business activities can be reviewed and made greener. Businesses have capitalised on this trend of environmental consciousness by offering services such as an organic 0800 number and use it as a unique selling point (USP) when selling their products or services.

The increased awareness of the environment through the media and legislation has meant that businesses have had to incorporate ‘greener’ aspects into their business, such as an organic 0844 number . In some circumstances becoming greener may be forced by regulatory change, but in others, this can be a positive marketing edge over other businesses in your industry.

To increase efficiencies in marketing spends, businesses often choose to purchase different organic 0845 numbers so they can track which advertising medium is converting the most business.

Sometimes businesses want to appear they’re from a local area by having a phone number with the relevant area code. This can be achieved by owning a local number where a number with a specific area code, points to your chosen destination number, whether it be a landline or mobile.

Providing the adequate facilities for recyclable material is paramount if people are to continue recycling. In some instances legislation has been put in place, as with plasterboard recycling where from April 2009 waste plasterboard will no longer be allowed to be disposed of in landfill.

Controlling the waste that goes to landfill is important because a certain percentage of this waste can be recycled. If using skip hire in Stamford or any other area, consider if any of the waste you’re putting into the skip can be recycled and if so take the necessary measures in making sure this is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way

A large proportion of processes can be made greener; however some people or businesses will not invest the money to make these changes although it may provide cost savings in the long term. Gas turbine efficiency is one way that businesses which have such technology can help the environment by attempting to reduce the amount of NOx emissions produced from turbines.

The environment can be effected in many different ways i.e. overpopulation of a certain animal may have negative consequences and as such pest control companies need to be employed. It’s important to regulate areas of the environment if we’re to ensure the future of our habitat and upcoming generations.
